Dr. Aimée Gould Shunney
Dr. Aimée is a naturopathic doctor (ND) and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) in private practice since 2001. Her specialty is women’s health and midlife care including peri/menopause management, menstrual issues, vulvar & pelvic pain, painful sex, and bio-identical hormone balancing (for men, too!).
As an expert in midlife care, she offers an integrative approach to reducing cardiovascular and metabolic risk, supporting bone density, maximizing cognitive function and mood stability, and managing weight and body composition changes. Treatment plans with Dr. Aimée ALWAYS address nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management. They may also include dietary supplements, herbal medicine, bio-identical hormones, and other prescription medications as appropriate.
She graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a BA in psychology and then received her medical degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. Ever the devoted student, Dr. Aimée continues to pursue additional postgraduate education with the Menopause Society, Institute for Women's Health and Integrative Medicine, the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH), the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AHIM), the Institute for Functional Medicine, and others. Whether it's the latest podcast, research article, or webinar, she loves to share what she learns with patients - and to learn from them as well.
She has been voted ‘Best Naturopathic Doctor’ in Santa Cruz County annually since 2010.
